Realtor © is a registered collective membership mark that identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the National Association of Realtors © (NAR), an organization with over 700,000 members, and subscribes to its code of ethics.
In North America, term Realtor© is often used as a synonim to real estate agent - an individual who can show property for sale on behalf of a seller, but who may not have a license to transact the sale and collect the sales commission. A person, corporation, or partnership licensed by a state to represent a buyer or seller in a real estate transaction in exchange for a commission called real estate broker.
